Thank You!

The end of my term as blog editor is here and Pam will be taking over for me in January.

December Meeting Minutes

The 'meeting' was mostly a Sew Day and Party. The meeting minutes are slim pickins'. regardless, we had a great time and a lot of Winter Extravaganza-palooza gifts were exchange while collecting pillowcases for fire victims.

Thanks to Allison and her team for organizing the food.

Minutes:
  • Some help will be needed with Hexies in 2018
  • Rhonda talked about the the Social Justice Sewing Academy embroidery small group/ project she will lead
  • Bring Michelle-Nicole's Color My Quilt shards in January
  • Bring your Color My Quilt shards in January if you want to work in a group to put them together
  • Sue S will be in charge of challenges starting in January. Stay tuned for some new and exciting projects.
  • Minnie Maw, a physical therapist will speak to us in January about hand health, hand issues. She will also teach us some exercises.
  • Quilty Happenings: 12/16 Craneway Pavillion Craft Fair, SJ Holiday Fair - sjmade.com - will be held at the South Hall in San Jose. Check website for details.
  • Scissor Sharpening: Peggy's friend will come to Sew Day to sharpen scissors - Jan 6 and Feb 3.
Charity quilts donated for the year: 175
Pillowcases collected today: 41

Next Meeting is Jan 13.

Winter Extravaganza Palooza Sew Day and Party Tomorrow!

The Winter Extravaganza Palooza Sew Day and Party will be held, tomorrow, December 9, 2017 from 10-4.
Schedule:
Sewing time: 10-1
Party and Show & Tell: 1-4

Meeting place:
Location: Grace Lutheran Church
3149 Waverly Street, Palo Alto, CA 94306
(Corner of Waverly and Loma Verde Street)
Sewing Time Information:
Time: 10-1
Please bring your own projects, but feel free to continue sewing pillowcases for the Happiness is a Warm Quilt drive for the fire victims in Napa and Sonoma Counties.  As you might remember, they are also asking for quilts (bed sized only) in addition to the children's pillowcases. There is additional information here Happiness is a Warm Quilt info.
Bring your own fabrics. Contact Peggy or Michelle if you want to use the charity fabric to make pillowcases.

Please bring:
- Your sunny smiling self

Plan to bring your own:
- Sewing machine
- Cutting tools (your own personal mat if you want)
- Fabric and other project parts

We provide:
- Ironing Boards (2)
- Irons (2)
- Cutting Mats
- Extension Cords (but you should pack one just in case!)

No donation needed! Unless you want to be generous of heart.

If you can, please get there early and help Mary set up!

Also, remember to clean up after yourself. Put your chair and table back (unless you are sharing a table!), if you leave early. If you stay to the end your help is greatly appreciated in putting away all the tables and chairs. Many hands make light work! THANK YOU!

Bring your swap gift wrapped in a pillowcase. All pillowcases will be donated to victims of the  Wine Country fires.
